Bhut Jolokia or Ghost Pepper

Bhut Jolokia or Ghost Pepper

ghost pepper Bhut Jolokia

For some reason this pepper is popular , I am not one for hot peppers but I guess there is many out there that loves a challenge..:)

NEW – 100-120 days from transplant—Also known as Ghost Pepper, Naga Morich. Legendary variety, one of the world’s hottest peppers, if not the hottest, with readings in excess of 1,000,000 Scoville units! Bhut Jolokia starts out slow but eventually makes tall plants, exceeding 4 ft in favored locations. The thin-walled, wrinkled, pointed fruits reach 2-3″ in length, ripening mostly to red.

Germinate all peppers at 75-80 degrees, my peppers  have germinated well at 8o degrees at about 5 days ..but I have read this variety can take a bit longer..

If you are up for a hot challenge then bhut jolokia ghost pepper may be one you would like to try..

Yes I cut a ring and tried it. It was quite hot causing my tuogne to hurt for about 10 minutes. I regularly eat habeneros so the burn for me was probably not as bad as it may be for others. I have used it in salsa and dried and crushed and love it as it takes it to the next level for me. Thanks for the comment!
